Ok, so I wrote the review below and within a day I received a message from the seller. They are making it right with a replacement and explained how to help it from happening again. I am very impressed with their customer service - responsive, on point and professional. Thank you! ------ I initially purchased a 2-pack of these cartridges in April 2022. The first one worked well, no complaints. Unfortunately, the second cartridge is throwing an error on my HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 with a "Non-HP Chip Detected". The cartridge is blocked from working at all. I have taken it out and reinstalled it a couple of times, with no improvement. Now I'm without a printer. I'm not pleased.

    I installed this ink cartridge in my HP officejet printer and it worked great under Windows 10 with no problem. I needed a new hard drive with Windows 11 upgrade. Currently, the HP upgrade firmware is blocking 3rd party ink usage under Windows 11, so I am unable to use any 3rd party ink. My printer only accept original HP cartridges.

    Those cartridges are much cheaper than HP ones (a pack of two XL black cartridges from Smart Ink was 38$ when I bought it in end of 2022, and only one XL black cartridge from HP is 71$ now in end of 2024), but the ink does perform a little bit less well compared to original HP cartridges ink as it bleeds more than the HP one, making less sharp lettering (in other words, the letters look bolder and more grey). It doesn't cause me any problem in general to print paperwork, but I probably wouldn't recommand this ink to print very precise work. Oteherwise, for papwerwork, I totally recommand this product!

    HP has a very bad update that prevented me to use one of the two cartridges (first one used in 2022, second one in 2024), but the customer service was very quick to answer me. Their solution, which is installing an older version of the microprogram of the printer, worked fine; but make sure to read the whole instructions first. You will need to be sure the print list is empty. On my side, I think the error message of the cartridges was preventing the downgrade. The roll back only worked when I reinstalled an old (empty) original HP catridge.

    Smart Ink cartridges work great! Compatible with HP and ink is comparable quality and quantity for a lower price. My printer became incompatible due to changing firmware on the printer and I couldn't use the next Smart Ink replacement cartridge. I contacted the company and they walked through the issue and found there was no way to make that cartridge work so they immediately sent out a new cartridge overnight. Great support and great product. Highly recommend.

    I installed the cartridge and received an error message from the printer - not compatible - ughhhh. Inside the package is a card with very clear instructions on how to contact customer service. I was ready for a fight, however, my experience was the exact opposite. They were extremely fast to respond. Turns out the cartridge didn’t work due to printer update, and a new one was shipped immediately. I received it the next day and it works beautifully. One caveat of this product is that you have to disable printer updates - so be aware of that, especially if you buy more than one. Print quality is excellent.
